Winter is creeping around the corner. That means something else is on the way … more germs! Whether you have kids in school or you work in an office, you know that it’s only a matter of time until you catch a cold or another seasonal bug. One common condition that goes around is conjunctivitis or pink eye.
What Does Pink Eye Look Like?
If you haven’t had it before, consider yourself lucky! It’s a gross infection to get. Those who’ve gotten pink eye know the feeling—That awkward moment when you wake up and your eye won’t open because it’s sealed shut by nasty gunk. Your eye will also be strong pink or red, much more so than when you just rub your eyes.

How to Treat Pink Eye
Pink eye can go away on its own. You can cover your eye with a cold compress and use lubricating eye drops from your local store (but don’t use drops made specifically to treat red eyes).
But if your pink eye doesn’t go away after a few days, you should definitely make an appointment with an eye doctor. They’ll prescribe antibiotics to help eliminate the virus and check to make sure you don’t have a more serious problem like a corneal inflammation
