If you’re fortunate enough to see, you should do everything you can to maintain your vision. Even if you put vision aside, keeping your eyes healthy is important to living an enjoyable life.
Sustaining healthy eyes requires routine eye exams, wearing glasses/contacts (if you’re prescribed them), and giving your body the nutrients it needs! Here are some great options.
Lutein and Zeaxanthin
These are antioxidants found in plants that can improve vision. You can get these by eating a lot of leafy greens (kale and spinach, for example) or as a supplement in pill form.
Vitamins A, C, and E
Carrots, bell peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts are just a few vegetables you can eat that are loaded with vitamins and nutrients to help your vision.

Zinc
The best way to get zinc in your system is through red meats, shellfish, legumes, nuts, and a bunch of other foods. You can also zinc in pill form at your local pharmacy or grocery store.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Once again, foods are the best way to go. Your best options include fish, eggs, and dairy products, but there’s a whole lot more out there as well.
Beta Carotene
If a natural food has a color like red, orange, or yellow, then you’ll probably get a decent amount of beta carotene. Some options include sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, carrots, and more.
